Harmony Week celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity.
It’s about inclusiveness, respect and sense of belonging for everyone.
St Mary’s will be celebrating Harmony Week with all students attending activities across the week starting with indigenous performances on Monday 18th March and concluding with an assembly to celebrate our school’s cultural diversity on Friday 22nd March.
At this Harmony Day assembly our principal, Trish Etcell, and parish will be presented with an artwork that is the culmination of the activities leading up to Harmony Day.
During French classes, students will discuss Cultural Diversity and be introduced to a whole school project that sees the school conducting a survey to establish how many different cultures enrich our Mansfield Community. This survey will be sent out over the next few days. The information will be used as the basis for artwork that the students.
In recognition of Harmony Day, the students are encourage to wear a ‘splash of orange‘ on Friday 22nd March!
